Ummm a Niagara Falls wrap up that's 3 days late!

Okay.so I started this entry on Monday. Yes Monday. And its Wednesday. So sue me. Thats what ya get for trying to update at work!

Guess who's single today? I forgot to put on my wedding ring for the first time since we've been married! A very sad day indeed. It feels weird when I look down at my hand and it's empty. Spooky. I don't like it. Must be more careful from now on.

So I realized that my entry yesterday was lacking. It was lacking details. See the whole point of having a diary (for me) is so that I can use it as sort of a gentle reminder of my shenanigans if you will. My memory is just plain bad. So it's not gonna be much help a year or two from now (or hey even a few months) when I go to look back and try and remember if this was the trip to the Falls where we got lost driving around or sat in the huge hot tub drinking wine together (ding ding). So yah for my own records I'm gonna add a little more about our weekend away.

For starters, it was decided that our hotel suite was bigger than our entire apartment. Sad but pretty funny at the same time. We arrived at the hotel at 3:30 and checked in half an hour early with no problems. The site I booked it said that we would be staying on any floor between 10 and 15 (42 floors in all I believe). So, of course, I was confused when I looked at the room card holder and saw it said 2016. What? That can't be the 20th floor! So I had to play the dumb card and ask the counter guy what floor we were on - 20. He wasn't the most hospitable person I've ever met either.

After unpacking (which is a must for me!), we (I) took a lot of pictures from our room - it really did overlook the Falls! We then checked out the exercise room (nice equipment but darn it all I forgot my workout wear - heh) and then the pool (huge! and it had not one but two hot tubs - also huge). We decided to go for a swim (yah pretty much anything swimming related was all initiated by me). It was glorious as there were only a few other people in the area and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. About an hour later we wandered back to our room and got ready for the 'manager reception' time. It ran from 2:30 - 7:30. You rec'd one free drink each and they had some snackies there (veggies and dip, pretzels and chips). I had a ceasar (apparently not too spicy means bring ON the spice baby!) and Keith had a Niagara best beer (he really enjoyed it). Afterwards we headed out to a restaurant across the street that we have never been too. Of course I can't recall the name! I'm also drawing a blank on what we had (obviously very memorable!). I should mention that it had begun to rain once we arrived but after eating it has pretty much stopped. Since we were feeling full we decided to take a short walk. It turned out to be shorter than we had planned since the first store we went into we spent way too much time looking around. But I did find a cute little pocket purse that is the same style as my Autumn purse that I bought last time we were there. By the time we came back out it had begun to rain harder so we called it a night and went back to our room(s).

The rest of the evening was pretty uneventful as the hubby was having tummy troubles. I, on the other hand, decided to have myself a swim in our large whirlpool tub. It was fantastic. We ended up watching about 3 episodes of CSI in a row before finally calling it a night and going to sleep. Sleep wasnt happening for me so I spent quite a while tossing and turning, opening and closing windows and then finally going into the other room to read for a while. I never did get a restful sleep. But I wasnt a crabby pants the next day either so thats all that matters.

Saturday we started the day off with our free breakfast buffet which was quite good considering it was made in mass quantities. After breakfast we headed back to the room and grabbed our coats and headed out for a walk. And walk we did! We probably walked for about an hour. The weather was chilly but still nice out no rain. We walked down to the Falls and the main strip and ended up in the arcade. There we spent $20 on games (we love our ticket games!). We earned enough tickets for a cheaply made Brian dog from Family Guy. Then I talked Keith into getting our portrait done in one of those machines for $5. We looked very cute. After that we wandered some more and eventually ended up in a small restaurant on the strip we had never been too. Its a small mom and pop joint that is totally out of place. The food was good (although quite greasy!). After that we started to head back to the hotel with a hot chocolate for substance. Once back we lounged around relaxing until I started to snore while reading a book! Then it was lights out and we went down for a nap. It was such a good nap! Although it was funny cause I woke up and a looked towards the window and all I could see was white fog. It had fogged over while we slept and combined with the mist from the falls all you could see was white. Once up we suited up and went for a swim. This time the pool was packed. Kids and adults everywhere. It was sensory overload. And very loud. We left after about 45 minutes and headed back to our room to get ready for the manager reception. This time I dressed up a little and wore the skirt that I brought. (Funny story normally when we go away I bring 2 or more outfits a day I like to have choices but this time I only brought what I needed and nothing extra! And of course this was the time I needed extra clothes cause Im a slob). After our free drink (another ceasar for me and this one wasnt spicy) we headed down to the TGI Fridays in the hotel (weve both never been) and had dinner. We had expected a line up but it seems everyone in the hotel had chosen the Keg instead (we were all about trying the new places this weekend!). Part of the hotel package was a $45 dinner voucher for the restaurant. It seemed like a lot of money until you saw the prices at the restaurants. Ouch! But since Keith wasnt all that hungry he ordered the cheap(er) meal while I ordered the $27 grilled chicken dinner. I only had half my dinner and took the rest to go (it became our midnight snack that night). After dinner we headed to the Casino. Bad idea. We have no luck whatsoever in casinos. We spent $50 total and walked out with 12 cents (we found that while walking!). Once back at the hotel it was around 11 and we finally took advantage of our whirlpool tub (together this time). We had wine and just relaxed in the awesome tub.

Sunday we awoke to the phone ringing at 8:30 am. Before we could gather our wits and answer it the ringing stopped. Wrong number. That pretty much got us up for the day but we were both having such a good sleep! We made it down to breakfast with our bathing suits hidden beneath our clothes. After bk we went for a swim (duh) and spent an hour or so amongst the others who wanted to get one last swim in before checking out. We checked out using the internet option which was cool, no lineups to check out. The maid came to our door at 11:55 to clean the room but I sent her away as we were still packing. But we were out by 12:00!

We had another first on our trip we stopped at the outlet stores! We wandered the whole plaza. Weve never done that before and Keith was even cool with me buying stuff which I must admit freaked me out a bit. Normally hes all like, do you need another shirt?. But this time he didnt say a word while I tried on clothes and then planned on buying them! Heres what I bought: 2 sports bras from 2 different stores (big boobs are a pain in the ass to fit into sports bras I tell ya!), 6 bottles of my favourite Body Shop scent (4 body wash and 2 lotion) for $12(!), 2 shirts from Roots that I will admit to being a smidgen tight but they were $10 each and dang it all I plan on losing some weight really really soon so I did the forbidden and bought clothes that dont fit. Although to be honest they do fit, I just get really self conscious when I havent worked out in forever and wont wear any body hugging clothes. But then once I start working out I regain some of that confidence and my t-shirts get a little less baggy. Yes, I am crazy, thanks for asking!

After our outlet excursion we summoned the energy to go and eat lunch at our favourite place in NF. I only ate half of my meal (had the rest wrapped) so I could save room for dessert. Keith couldnt see my logic in that if I eaten all my meal I wouldnt need dessert. Sure, I guess it makes sense except that I wanted dessert. See, I knew something he didnt. Once back home I was leaving holiday mode behind and getting back into eating healthy and exercise mode. So I had to have this decadent dessert but men they dont understand this kind of thinking.

And that was pretty much our trip! This entry wasnt supposed to be this long but yah. Oh and, ahem, I sort of left out the x-rated parts wink wink nudge nudge.

As for the eating healthy and exercising, surprisingly its been going good. Not great but good. I decided since Im paying for WW online I should stop being an idiot and utilize it. So I have. 3 days so far. Lets hope I dont lose momentum! Plus Ive been to the gym both Monday and Tuesday. I was even trying to scheme a way I could go tonight even though its swimming night. Instead Im just gonna try and swim more than normal.

Alright I am ending this huge ass entry now!
